Learning Design?

In programming, "learning design" refers to a Meta model to describe (through a program code) educational scenarios based in organized learning activities in order to catalog information related to teaching.

In other words, it is a language that helps to catalog properly the nature of the educational content created. For example, take a biology course. The course includes, a written document without images, describing photosynthesis. A second document, shows an initial activity of comprehension that involves three questions, then a second document which illustrates the photosynthesis process through an image, followed by a test with five questions and finally a production activity that is a written essay explaining the process in 250 words.

This Meta language can then sort and classify accurately all this information in order to transform it into information that teaching devices could easily interpret and share. ASLearningDesign understands how these processes work and apply them in our day to day basis. The "learning design" is to design, both in form and substance, educational content for use in online learning platforms.
